Alvarado Hospital held a grand opening for their new emergency department today. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the new facility open to the public from 11 AM-3 PM. Members of the community were invited to get an up-close look at a modern, state-of-the-art emergency room right before it becomes operational. This new wing expands the hospital’s emergency medicine capacity from 12 to 32 beds and remains a certified primary stroke center, STEMI severe heart attack receiving center, and accredited for geriatric emergency care.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was presided over by representatives of local elected officials, community leaders and stake-holders, and hospital leadership. Hundreds of members of the local community, as well as hospital staff, enjoyed the guided tours of the facility.
