Kenneth D. McFarland is the new Chief Executive Officer at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center in San Diego, California. Kenn started at Alvarado on April 18, 2022, and joins the hospital and Prime Healthcare with 24 years of healthcare leadership experience. Kenn has taken this leadership role after the departure of former hospital CEO Robin Gomez.
From 2016 to 2021, Kenn served as Chief Executive Officer of 400-bed Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center (a member of Tenet Health) in Orange County, California. Earlier in his career, Kenn held various senior leadership roles with Mission Hospital, a 552-bed hospital, and a member of Providence/ St. Joseph Health System, in South Orange County, CA. While there, he served as President and CEO for five years, and also held COO and CFO responsibilities since 1998. Kenn began his career with Ernst & Young, Los Angeles, CA. For seven years, Kenn performed audit and consulting services for their LA, Honolulu & Orange County Offices. Thereafter, Kenn worked seven years at PepsiCo, Inc, Purchase, New York, holding a variety of strategy and finance roles.

Kenn holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and Economics from the University of California, Irvine and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from California Polytechnic University in Pomona, California.
