America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery

Alvarado Hospital is proud to be the only California hospital to be named among America’s 100 Best for Spine Surgery four years in a row (2014-2017). Why is it important to choose a hospital that has been named among the best in the U.S.? Healthgrades compared Specialty Excellence Award recipients as a group to all other hospitals (as a group) and found:

• From 2013-2015, patients treated at hospitals receiving America’s 100 Best for Spine Surgery Award have, on average, a 51.3% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.
• From 2013-2015, patients treated at hospitals that did not receive America’s 100 Best for Spine Surgery award are, on average, 2.05 times more likely to experience one or more complications in the hospital than if they were treated at hospitals that did receive the award.

Healthgrades, the leading online resource helping consumers make informed healthcare decisions, evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 34 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions.
